Jack’s Blog – Difficult weekend at Vallelunga
A very difficult weekend at Vallelunga, the weather throughout the weekend was treacherous and was constantly changing.
Unfortunately I could not find a good feeling in the wet and I was not able to run the pace. We qualified down in 17th position but I suffered a fall in the warm up lap of the first wet race. JDS Moto repaired the bike and I had to start from pit lane. After 4 laps I went from P36 to P15 but I then suffered another crash which resulted in a DNF.
For race 2 we found a problem that was resulting in a lack of feeling. At the start of the race the track was wet but the sun was shining and some riders had gambled with dry tires. I made the decision to keep my wet tires on. I had a great start and picked off 5 places in the first lap But as the race went on, the track went dry and the wet tires I had were losing a lot of traction, I couldn’t keep the pace and I fell back to P17.
I am taking away the positives and learning from the negatives. Although it hasn’t been my weekend, All the fantastic people that put a smile on my face during these challenging times, I really cannot thank enough. Also Thank you to everyone back home cheering me on, supporting me and helping make this year possible.
2019 will be a new adventure and one of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt from 2018 is to never give up on your goals or aspirations. Even when the odds are against you, always push through because good times will come.
Thank you all for your support!
